Oracle Development Consultant

Job Summary:

A successful candidate would be expected to perform a wide variety of duties to develop, maintain and support Paragon business software applications and those of our customers (principally with Oracle Technology).

In addition, a successful candidate would be trained to ensure all work carried out is of the highest standard, i.e. rigorous testing of all developments / modifications carried out using, among other things, Paragons internally developed testing quality standards, F.I.T.

Employment at Paragon will expose a successful candidate to the entire spectrum of Software and Systems development techniques including design, the creation and maintenance of essential technical and user documentation, onsite installation and sign-off techniques and post installation support.

Technical Pre-requisites:

-A formal training in relational database and computer software programming theory.
-A thorough knowledge of Oracle "technology" product portfolio (e.g. database, Oracle-SQL, PL-SQL, Forms and Reports development tool set (version 6i or higher)
-At least two years practical experience in a structured development environment.
-Demonstration of capabilities to produce and maintain high quality detailed technical and user documentation.
-Commitment to and demonstration of personal endeavour to achieve formal Oracle Certification in one or more of Oracle technology products.

Advantageous extras:

-Exposure to WEB based development using Oracle Technology
-Exposure to WEB based development in other technologies that can be applied to Oracle Technology

General Pre-requisites:

-Excellent verbal communication in English, including telephone conversation.
-Excellent written communication in English.
-Presentable appearance at all times as it is Paragon policy to employ consultants in a customer facing role whenever possible
-Team player
-Willingness to advance to Team and / or Project Management over a period of time with formal training provided by Paragon

Oracle DBA

An Oracle 8i DBA with minimum of 2 years experience and intrested in pursuing Oracle Certification.
